Platform Make Vaughan Beautiful Again
I am committed to restoring the pride residents have always felt in their neighbourhoods by making Vaughan one of the most beautiful communities in the world.
For me, community pride has always been personal.
Before entering politics, I spent 27 years serving children, youth, seniors and families through community organizations. Throughout my public life, I have helped create and support initiatives such as MapleFest, the Seniors Association of Vaughan Initiative (SAVI), volunteer recognition programs and numerous community-building initiatives that strengthen civic pride and bring people together.
A great city is more than roads and buildings.
It is the pride people feel when they walk through a beautiful park, visit a vibrant main street, attend a community festival or welcome visitors to their neighbourhood.
As Vaughan continues to grow, we must not lose sight of the things that make our city special.
I have done this before. Over the past term of Council, I did not just talk about community pride. Throughout my career, I have supported community-building initiatives, volunteer programs, festivals and public spaces that bring residents together and strengthen neighbourhood identity. Over the past 4 years, I helped support major improvements to Woodbridge Avenue and Kleinburg Village, expanded tree planting and urban-forest protection, advanced long-term planning for Vaughan’s parks and greenspaces, and supported resident-led cleanups and environmental stewardship. Now I want to build on that progress with measurable beautification projects in every ward, renewed main streets, cleaner public spaces and a city-wide effort to make Vaughan beautiful again
We need to make Vaughan beautiful again.
The Next Four Years
Too many residents believe the appearance of our neighbourhoods has declined as Vaughan has grown. The appearance of our neighbourhoods directly impacts quality of life.
